The Perfect Baby Shower Gift

written by |

You’ve been invited to a baby shower and you want to take a gift. But, what is the perfect baby shower gift? Let me give you my maybe controversial opinion.

Babies arrive into this world and all they really need is food, warmth and nurturing. Nice baby grows, blankets and cuddly toys are nice-to-haves but honestly there’s only so many knitted blankets that a new baby can have before it becomes excessive.

There’s a really important person that often gets overlooked when it comes to gifts. They are arguably even the star of the entire show. The mum-to-be. She is spending 9 long months growing this little human, sacrificing so much. So – I always rock up to the baby shower with a gift for the expectant mum.

Here are some of my favourite ideas for a perfect baby shower gift for expectant mums.

  1. A Wave Comb

A comb can be an amazing tool in birth, and can make a great gift for mum-to-be ready to pop in her hospital bag. The gate control theory states that your brain can only focus on a few sensations at the same time. By squeezing the comb into your palm it acts as a distraction, diverting your brain so your body can adjust to the pain.

You can receive 10% off Wave Combs via the link and using the code “BUMPTOBABY”.

  2. Hot Tea Mama and a one-handed cup

Hot Tea Mama pregnancy teas are carefully blended to support each stage of labour. Their one-handed cup is also sure to go down a treat. The cup is triple insulated (because we know how hard it is to drink a hot cuppa with a baby!) and it can easily be opened and closed with one hand.

You can get 15% off on Hot Tea Mama via the link above and using the code “BUMMPTOBABY15”.

  3. A voucher for something pamper-related

In those final weeks of pregnancy, a pamper can be a welcome distraction. A voucher for a pregnancy massage or for the pregnant mama to get her nails done can be just what the midwife ordered.

  4. Don’t Buy her Flowers giftbox

When you’re tasked with caring for a brand new human, caring for the addition of flowers is often a task at the bottom of the pile. Don’t Buy her Flowers has an amazing selection of giftboxes from care packages to pamper packs, and one specifically designed for new parents.

  5. Cook Vouchers

Cook vouchers are the perfect present for new parents to take away some of life’s mundane tasks and allow them to focus on their baby and their own recovery. Cook gift cards are valid in store and also for home delivery making them super convenient.

  6. The Birth Chapter

The Birth Chapter is arguably the greatest gift you could give to a pregnant woman. The gift of birth prep is so much more than a present. You’re giving the opportunity to stack the odds in their favour for birth. Helping them to make the day they give birth one that they will want to look back on and remember fondly for the rest of their life.
