Top 5 Online Groups if you’re Pregnant with Twins

written by |

So, you’ve been for your scan and they’ve found not one BUT TWO heart beats. Massive congratulations, mama! It can feel overwhelming to know that you’ve inadvertently just got yourself a buy-one-get-one-free deal on babies, so here are my top 5 online groups to support you if you’re pregnant with twins.

The Twins Trust

The Twins Trust is staffed by parents of multiples, to listen and offer support, on concerns including feeding, sleeping or managing the day to day. Call 0800 138 0509, 10am-1pm, 7pm-10pm daily, or email tambabreastfeeding@gmail.com, or visit twinstrust.org.

Home Start

Home Start is an amazing resource across the UK that will be able to support you if you have any worries. They are a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times. They run groups, can assign volunteers to support you, and can sign post you to other places for additional help if needed.

The La Leche League

If you are planning to breastfeed then the La Leche League has a wealth of information to support you on your breastfeeding journey with your new arrivals. They cover everything from planning ahead, to getting out and about with your babies, to looking after yourself as well. They also have a free national helpline should you need additional support: 0345 1202918 (This is open from 8am to 11pm, 365 days a year).

Facebook groups

The Twins UK Support Group has 11,000 members and is one of many Facebook communities for twin parents. Local areas tend to have their own small versions too, for example Cheltenham has the Cheltenham Twins Group which has over 700 local twins parents. The Cheltenham group also has their own twins selling page – perfect for doubling up!

The Bump to Baby Chapter

Our courses cover all types of birth and therefore are applicable to multiples. The Birth Chapter covers everything you need to understand your birth options, to have discussions with your care team, and to make informed choices. Course contributor and twin mum Dr Justine Davenport has also written us blogs on having twins that you may find helpful. Have a read of her Top 5 Tips for Preparing for Twins or Questions about having Twins.
